Jeff Shaw, President
Jeff Shaw works at Davis Community Television, a public access television station, and currrently manages KDRT-LP, a low power fm station based in Davis, CA. Jeff has been involved with KDRT-LP since it's inception, finding a home for KDRT-LP at Davis Community Television, and writing the original FCC application. Jeff grew up listening to KDVS, while deejaying as a teenager at KVMR in Nevada City. He believes community radio increases quality of life.

Kristin Koster
Kristin is a PhD in French Literature and an arts activist. She’s recently organized a mural project by Oaxacan artists around the theme of community media for Davis Media Access and local radio station KDRT. She’s been a researcher, volunteer, grant writer and Common Frequency Board Member since 2007.
Clay Leander
Clay Leander brings a background in major market and minority broadcasting, community media centers, new facility startups, and social media. His noncommercial work includes Operations Director with the Access Monterey Media Center, General Manager for KSAR/KEDU in Silicon Valley, and as Executive Director of VCAT TV in Vallejo CA. He’s also served on the nonprofit boards of KZCT FM, Contra Costa County’s Telecommunications Task Force, and the Alliance for Community Media’s Public Policy workgroup. Clay is also a contributor to ‘La Raza Chronicles’ on Pacifica Radio's KPFA FM.
Sue Wilson
The Writer/Director/Producer of Public Interest Pictures' award winning documentary on reforming the media, Broadcast Blues, Sue Wilson tells important stories which move politicians to act. 1987's California State University Long Beach “Outstanding Graduate” in Radio/TV/Film, she won Emmys for specials she produced at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, and then in 1994 turned the spotlight on wasteful government spending for Sacramento Fox TV station KTXL, where her Emmy winning stories changed national, state, and local spending policies. In 1998, Wilson broke national news of pharmaceuticals appearing in drinking water, which encouraged the U.S. EPA to begin testing. Her AP, RTNDA, and PRNDI award winning radio show "Healing Healthcare" at Sacramento NPR station KXJZ in the early 2000's helped put more nurses on the job in California. Wilson is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post, Bradblog, OpEdNews, and Buzzflash.

Tracy Rosenberg
Tracy Rosenberg has worked as Media Alliance's Executive Director since 2007. She has organized and advocated for a free, accountable and accessible media system, focusing on the protection and sustainability of alternative media outlets, monitored the mainstream media for accuracy and fair representation and facilitated the training of numerous nonprofit organizations and citizen's groups in effective communications. She also worked at Pacifica Radio as a program coordinator, facilitator and community election supervisor.

Yoo-hyun Oak
Yoo-hyun Oak is a graphic designer interested in media justice and political activism. She's been involved in community radio as a DJ, volunteer, and Program Director at KDVS.

Marque Cass
Marque Cass the newest member of Common Frequency. He is 26 years old and originally from Chicago. His radio experience began in Bloomington as a member of WFHB's youth radio. He is currently the Program Director for Davis Youth Media Program, and has been a Davis Media Access volunteer for over two years.
Chris Marland
Chris is a former Manager at KDVS, and currently resides on staff of KFJC Los Altos Hills, CA. Chris is an independent IT Consultant and Programmer, with expertise in Marketing and Advertising Production.
Staff
Todd Urick
Todd is the Program and Technical Director for Common Frequency. He is in charge of managing the various programs the organization is engaged in and directing volunteers. Todd additionally heads engineering-related tasks such as planning stations and FCC paperwork. He is a former Manager of KDVS, graduated from UC Davis in engineering, and is interested in design, modern architecture, and DIY punk and records from the 70s.
Darrick Servis
Darrick is Common Frequency's IT Director. He is the Director of Operations at Davis Media Access and also the System Administrator for Omsoft Technoligies. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from UC Davis and held the position of Chief Engineer at KDVS.
Mark William Chang
Mark is Common Frequency's stations engineering consultant and planner. Mark, graduate of UC Davis, is an electrical engineer, technology historian, musician, and audiophile enthusiast active in RF circuit design since 1984. He built “Davis Live Radio”, a micro-power station in Davis, CA. In recent years Mark has participated with KDRT, KDVS, and BMIR (Burning Man Information Radio). He is currently developing off-the-grid solar and wind power systems for remote mountaintop transmitters.
Gavin Dahl - Community Broadcast Coordinator (AmeriCorps VISTA Member)
Radioactive Gavin joins Common Frequency for a year of capacity-building supported by Digital Arts Service Corps and The Transmission Project. An Evergreen College grad with ten years experience in commercial and community radio, his public interest advocacy has led him to lobby Congress in DC, testify in state Legislative committee, speak truth to the FCC and expose NAB hypocrisy. In addition to contributing to syndicated programs like Sprouts and Listen Up Northwest, Gavin has hosted programs or appeared live on KVRX-Austin, KAOS959-Austin, Boston Indymedia No-DNC Radio, WSCA-Portsmouth, KBCS-Bellevue/Seattle, KPTK-Seattle, Oseao Radio, KAOS-Olympia, WUOG-Athens, WBGU-Bowling Green, Boise Community Radio, KSVR-Mount Vernon, KRFC-Fort Collins, KDRT-Davis, KDVS-Davis and Dublab. Gavin's writing has been published by Raw Story, Boise Weekly, Austin American-Statesman and Radio Survivor as well as republished by Common Dreams, AlterNet and even Pat Buchanan.

Rich Luschar
Rich has worked in professional radio as both technical engineer and show producer (KXOA-AM/K108-FM). He previously worked for Elcom-Bauer Transmitters as test and R&D engineer, and now works for an electronics manufacturing company as lead technician, manufacturing trouble shooter, and customer technical advice/service.

Sharmi Basu
Sharmi Basu is currently the intern at Common Frequency and has been working with radio and media advocacy since 2006. She recently graduated with a BA in Political Science at the University of California, Davis. Sharmi has been DJing with KDVS 90.3fm in Davis since 2006, worked as Publicity Director at KDVS since 2008, and is the founder of the Sacramento Zine Symposium. She believes in free and open media resources and is passionate about the alternative music community.
